BOTOX® & Dermal Fillers

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only FDA approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet lines in adults. BOTOX® has been used therapeutically for more than 17 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries and remains the most-studied botulinum toxin and one of the most widely researched medicines in the world.

How does BOTOX® work?

The lines that appear between your brows actually result from muscle movement and the passage of time. When powerful muscles between the brows contract, they draw the brows together, causing the skin to fold or furrow. As skin elasticity diminishes with age, those folds or furrows result in stubborn lines.  BOTOX® Cosmetic targets the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

What is BOTOX® treatment like?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a quick and minimally invasive procedure consisting of a few tiny injections.  No anesthesia is required. Your specialist will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatments for you. The actual injection process takes about 10 minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief. There is no downtime afterward; however, you should remain upright for 4 hours, do not exercise for 4 hours, and no hats, headbands, or massage for the remainder of the treatment day.

Dermal Fillers

As you age, your skin reduces production of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). The loss of HA in your skin over time results in facial wrinkles & folds, like the “parentheses” lines around your mouth. Juvederm™ dermal fillers replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away wrinkles & folds.

Dermal Fillers treat:

  • Thin lips

  • Sagging facial skin

  • Flattened cheeks

  • Marionette lines

  • Vertical lip lines

  • Nasolabial folds (the deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth)

Dermal fillers are noticeable immediately, with results lasting 12-18 months. With both treatments, 2 week follow-up appointments are scheduled to evaluate results and compare before/after photos.

What is the average treatment cost?

The average treatment cost for Botox is between $200 and $500, depending on what area(s) are treated. Dermal filler treatments start at $600 to $700 per syringe, with an average of 1-4 syringes, depending on what area is treated.
