"Get off your feet and under mine!"

The roots of Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy ™ (AOBT ™) came from the Far East, but this American adaptation is truly a western phenomenon.

Contrary to popular belief- No one will be “walking on your back!” This would be too dangerous and can easily result in an injury.  The therapist will carefully control the weight of her body during the session using a set of parallel bars for support and balance.

AOBT ™ is “3 massages in 1.”  It provides relief for such conditions as: lower back pain, scoliosis, sciatica, tight hamstrings and calves; it helps to release metabolic waste from your tissues and increase the feeling of well being.  The biggest benefit of AOBT ™ is that these positive changes in the body happens much faster than with a regular deep tissue massage.  That is why it is often called “3 massage in 1!”  AOBT ™ also helps to elongate the spine and after only a few sessions dramatically improves posture and movement.

AOBT ™ is great for women.  Many times during a deep tissue massage, the therapist will use an elbow to affect deeper layers of tissue.  With women's muscles being smaller, this may be very painful.  Since the foot is much bigger than elbows, fingers or knuckles the pressure is evenly spread over a large area, which helps to reduce or completely eliminate pain and discomfort.  Louise carefully monitors the pressure during your massage and will check in with you to make sure you are comfortable.

AOBT ™ is also very effective for large muscular people or athletes or people who like A LOT of pressure.  With AOBT ™ the therapist will rely on gravitational forces and may use their entire weight on larger clients.

AOBT ™ is not for everyone. If you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, recently gave birth, have a serious health condition, recent surgery (including Lasik), I regret that you can not receive a session.  Please refer to bottom on page for more health contraindications.  In addition you may be sore and or "spacey" after the session, so please plan accordingly.

Follow up care for AOBT

After receiving a session, your back muscles will be very supple.  Please take the following precautions for the first 48 hours after receiving a massage.

After treatment you should not:

· Sit for long periods of time in a hard chair.  Examples- surfing the net, sitting in a theatre or playing cards for any extended amount of time.  I do not want you to compress your back for 24 hours.
· Lift heavy objects.  For example: Do not lift children over 35 lbs, weight lift, perform heavy yard or housework.  Be very careful of your work out at a gym within first 48 hrs after a massage.
