13 Most Embarrassing Massage Questions
AM I SUPPOSED TO TIP?
15-20% is standard for gratuity and is greatly appreciated. Please make checks out directly to the therapist or use cash. We do not accept tips on Credit Cards.
AM I SUPPOSED TO TAKE OFF MY UNDERWEAR?
Many people prefer to leave their underwear on, however if your problem areas are your lower back, hips, buttocks or groin, tight fitting underwear might get in the way of the massage work, leaving you with less relief from your treatment. However, during your treatment, you will remain modestly draped. If you don’t feel comfortable taking off your underwear, lowering them during back work is an option. For women, the removal of your bra is recommended to allow flowing strokes and access to the shoulder and neck area.
WHAT IF YOU FALL ASLEEP AND SNORE OR DROOL?
Many people go into a massage stressed & sleep-deprived and feel so relaxed that they fall asleep. Your therapist won’t judge you if you snore during the massage. When you wake up, you may wake up to a pool of drool on the pillow where your face rests. Feel free to ask your therapist for a tissue.
WHAT IF YOU NEED TO PASS GAS?
It is far better to pass gas during the massage than to clench your gluteal muscles during the massage to hold it in. (This is often a sign that you’re relaxed). If you’re really uncomfortable passing gas, you can always excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. Each room has a robe for this reason.
WHAT IF YOU ARE TICKLISH?
Let your massage therapist know if you’re ticklish before your massage begins. Usually firm, slow pressure and avoiding certain spots (ie: feet) can help you from feeling ticklish during a massage.
WILL THE MASSAGE THERAPIST BE IN THE ROOM WHEN I UNDRESS?
Here at all about you, the massage therapist will leave the room so that you can remove your clothing. Upon undressing, you can then lay on the table under the top sheet. During the treatment only the area being worked will be uncovered. The massage therapist will wait a few minutes for you to settle in and then knock on the door to make sure that you are ready before entering the room.
SHOULD I TALK DURING THE MASSAGE?
Although some people prefer to talk during the treatment, please don’t feel like you have to make conversation. For your own relaxation it is best if you close your eyes which is what most people do. Please speak up if the pressure during the treatment is too much or is uncomfortable, if the room is too hot or cold, if you have any questions regarding your massage treatment or if you forgot to mention anything during your initial massage consultation.
WHAT IF I GET AN ERECTION?
Some men avoid massage therapy because they worry that they may get an erection. Many are unable to relax during their treatment because of this fear. It is common for men to get an erection during a therapeutic massage.
Gentle touch administered to the body may activate the parasympathetic nervous system and cause a partial or full erection. Your massage therapist will understand this and will generally ignore it. Some men keep their underwear on to help provide support. If wearing boxers, your massage therapist may suggest rolling them up to access the muscles of the leg or also suggest lowering them during the back treatment.
WHAT DO I DO IF THE PRESSURE ISN’T DEEP ENOUGH BUT I DON’T WANT TO INSULT THE THERAPIST’S TECHNIQUE?
Your therapist will appreciate your honesty. Keep in mind that massage doesn’t always have to hurt to be effective. Many massage techniques are gentle and do not involve deep pressure or pain. In some circumstances, too much pressure can cause the muscles to seize up. Keep in mind that each therapist does have their own unique style and that if you do not like your therapist’s technique, feel free to ask your therapist if they have another technique or you can always try a different therapist for your next treatment.
WHAT IF I AM SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT A CERTAIN PART OF MY BODY?
People are self-conscious for many different reasons. The massage therapists here at all about you are here to help, not to judge. However if you are self conscious about a certain area on your body, feel free to ask the therapist to avoid that area or in many cases to work over the sheet.
HOW DO I KNOW IF THIS IS A LEGITIMATE MASSAGE CLINIC?

All of the therapists are licensed and offer therapeutic massage. Also the draping here is professional and only the area being worked on will be exposed.

DOES THE THERAPIST HAVE TO INCLUDE CHEST, ABDOMEN AND BUTTOCKS DURING THE MASSAGE?
